Willie Isa previews Friday night’s Betfred Super League tie with Warrington Wolves.
If selected, second row will set make his 100th appearance for Wigan.
- Isa: “It’s a challenge for us as a team but it’s one we’re looking forward to.”
Wigan Warriors’ Willie Isa says Friday night’s ‘result will take care of itself’ if his side perform consistently against Warrington.
The second row has acknowledged the challenge that the Warriors face against Wolves but has stated his team must focus on themselves.
Isa is set to make his 100th appearance for the Cherry and Whites at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in Round 6 of the Betfred Super League.
He said: “It will be a tough game with the way they are playing at the minute.
“It’s a challenge for us as a team but it’s one we’re looking forward to and it’s going to be a good battle between the two sides.
“We’ve got to get the performance right more than anything else. We have to be consistent throughout the whole 80 minutes and the result will take care of itself.
“I won’t be thinking about it being a landmark occasion for myself because the team is bigger than any individual.
“We’re focusing on ourselves and usually when a Wigan team puts its foot forward, we take care of the business.”
Isa also believes his team can be inspired and try to replicate previous results against Warrington, as Wigan have won the last three meetings and six out of the last ten overall.
He added: “I like to think we have done well against Warrington in the past. We are always up for the big games and this is another one.
“The most important thing though is replicating what we are doing in training. We need to fix our individual games and that leads to the team performing well.
“We’re working hard and hopefully it can pay off on Friday.”
