Mitch Clark was delighted to get a win on his competitive debut for Wigan Warriors as his side beat Toronto Wolfpack 32-10 at the DW Stadium.
The 26-year-old came off the bench on Thursday evening to get his first action under Adrian Lam in the Betfred Super League.
Clark said: “It was awesome to be out there. It was great to get my home debut and to get the win.
“The fans were loud and passionate and it was good to play in front of them and show them a little bit about me. I enjoyed being out there.”
The prop joined the Warriors during the off season and feels he has fitted in well with the rest of the squad.
“I feel like I’ve settled in pretty good, everyone has been welcoming and I have fitted in well with the lads. It’s great to have some game time and to get my debut.”
For a long period of the game against Toronto, the two teams were pretty level with the scores sitting at 10-10 up until just before the hour mark.
Clark believes Wigan showed what they were about as they eventually overcame their Canadian opponents with three tries in the remaining 16 minutes.
“It showed the class and the skill that we have in our team because Toronto are a great side with some great players who can put them on the front foot, but we showed what we can do. Bevan (French) was silky and Zak (Hardaker) played well.”
Going forward, Clark hopes his team can keep building in the right direction.
“Hopefully, we will keep getting the wins and ticking the right boxes to do the right things.”
